Oklahoma Gas Can Company Calling it Quits
By KWGS News
We could be facing a new shortage!
Not of gasoline, but of gasoline containers.
The largest manufacture of those red plastic gas cans is Miami, Oklahoma based “Blitz USA”. The company is closing its doors because it can no longer afford product liability insurance.
Consumers have accused the company of making faulty cans that can explode when used to pour gas onto fires even though the cans have a warning on them NOT to do that.
There are 42-cases pending against the company. The company did win one case, but its defense cost $2.5-million. Blitz USA employees over 100 workers at its Miami facility. It will close at the end of this month.
