OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The executive director of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has announced plans to retire.
The department says Steve Thompson will retire Oct. 1 after serving as director since July 2002. Thompson said in a statement released Monday that he plans to spend more time with his family.
Thompson is a 1970 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and previously was director of the Oklahoma Department of Pollution Control and was Assistant Secretary of the Environment.
