Okla. Appeals Court upholds Murder Conviction

KWGS News

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma appeals court has upheld the conviction and life sentence of a man convicted of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of another man in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals handed down the decision Wednesday in the case of 29-year-old Anthony Ramone Clark.

Clark was convicted in January 2011 for the March 24, 2010, death of William Brown at an apartment complex. Jurors recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Clark claimed there was insufficient evidence to convict him because no one saw who fired the weapon that killed Brown. However, the court says witnesses testified Clark was the only person near the victim at the time and they saw him running away.

Clark testified that he saw two other men shoot Brown.
