Weleetka, OK – Okla. officials mark anniversary of girls' deaths

WELEETKA, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma law enforcement authorities say they are looking at suspects in the deaths of two girls two years after they were fatally shot, but they still need the public's help in solving the crime.

Investigators and family members of the victims gathered in rural Okfuskee County Tuesday to remember 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Jade Whitaker, who were found shot to death June 8, 2008, along a dirt road near Weleetka.

No arrests have been made, but Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says the case is being actively investigated. Brown wouldn't provide additional details about the suspects.

District Attorney Max Cook urged anyone with information to contact his office or the OSBI. A reward of more than $163,000 is being offered.
