Oklahoma City, OK – ODOT to celebrate its centennial at meeting

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The centennial of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation will be a primary subject of discussion during an Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting.

The commission will meet Wednesday in Oklahoma City and will hear state Transportation Secretary Gary Ridley discuss activities planned in celebration of ODOT's 100th birthday.

The agency was created on June 15, 1911, with the passage of House Bill 318. ODOT officials plan to seal a time capsule on June 15 this year to commemorate the agency's 100th birthday.

After the meeting, the Oklahoma Employees Credit Union plans to offer cake to those in attendance in honor of ODOT's centennial.
