Nowata, OK – Some people in Nowata are not happy over the sudden firing of a man many consider a hero. Dan Belden was fired Monday as the fire chief.
Among the items given for his termination was not wearing bunker gear. He was not wearing bunker gear when he rushed into a burning building to save a six-year-old child.
Nowata officials are not discussing the matter, because it deals with personnel.
