On the Next ATJ: New York, New York --- The City in Jazz

You're both welcome and encouraged to come along for the next installment of All This Jazz, which begins at 10pm on Saturday the 7th right here on Public Radio 89.5-1. As ever, we'll offer modern jazz, both recent and classic, with all of it --- without exception --- sounding excellent or better.

We'll also offer, again as ever, a Sunday-night re-broadcast of our program on the 8th, beginning at 7pm, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel.

For this particular show, our second-hour "theme" will be NYC. Could there possibly be a city anywhere on the planet that's had more jazz tunes written for or about it than dear ol' Noo Yawk? Fuhgettabowdit.

Therefore, we'll hear, among many other great tunes, such timeless Big Apple-inspired standards as "Autumn in New York" and "Manhattan" --- along with Thelonious Monk's "52nd Street Theme" and John Coltrane's "Central Park West."

Please join us.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
