On the Next All This Jazz: Halloween Tunes!

Happy Halloween, fellow music buffs!

On the next edition of All This Jazz, which begins at 10pm Central on Saturday the 26th, right here on Public Radio 89.5-1, we'll be spinning --- as is our happy custom --- modern jazz, both and recent classic, for two solid hours. (We'll also present a 7pm re-broadcast of ATJ on Sunday the 27th, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

And given the All Hallow's Eve festivities due to arrive on 10/31, our show's second-hour "theme" this time around will be Halloween Tunes. Thus we'll dig excellent jazz compositions, across a range of moods and styles, with titles like "The Monster," "Witch Hunt," "The Bat," and "Frankenstein" (this last-named creature, of course, appears herewith in an advertisement for the wonderful 1931 movie directed by James Whale).

We'll hear music from Buddy Rich, Tierney Sutton, Lee Morgan, Don Byas, John Coltrane, Stan Kenton, and many others --- frightfully good stuff, as it were.

Join us.
