Tulsa, OK – The American Red Cross announces Regina Moon will be the new CEO of the Tulsa Area Chapter.
She will begin Monday, Oct. 19. Additionally, the new board of directors will be appointed and Moon introduced at the Red Cross annual meeting at 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Red Cross, 10151 E. 11th St. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
Moon is a Tulsan with more than 20 years experience in broadcasting, marketing and communications, and community relations. Most recently, she was vice president and chief operating officer for The News on 6 and CW 12/19 television stations. Moon became leader of The News On 6 (KOTV) in 2001, shortly after Griffin Communications purchased that television station. In 2005, she assumed responsibility for a second station in Tulsa, CW12/19 (KQCW) after Griffin purchased it from Cascade Broadcasting. Moon previously held General Manager positions for stations in Missouri and Kansas. She also served as station manager at KTUL in Tulsa.
She has served on various boards, including the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce and Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice. Moon is a native Oklahoman whose hometown is Prague. Moon holds a degree in speech communications from East Central University in Ada. She and her husband have a 14-year-old son, Max.

"So it is my honor to now be a part of such an important organization and to carry on the proud traditions of the Red Cross. I can't wait to get started because I know how much the community needs the Red Cross."
Since July 1, the Red Cross has been led by interim CEO Carol Rittenhouse, along with 35 staff members and more than 900 active volunteers. During the CEO transition, the Red Cross has continued helping families after house fires and flooding, teaching CPR and other safety classes, and teaching the community to prepare for disasters.
