New Center for Fire Victims at Drumright
DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (AP) — A mobile disaster recovery center is slated to open near Drumright this week to help residents apply for aid after a devastating wildfire burned more than 90 square miles last month in Oklahoma's Creek County.
Officials say the center is slated to open at a church near Drumright on Tuesday.
Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management deputy director Michelann Ooten says the center will make it easier for people in the Drumright area to get face-to-face information about assistance.
The center will open at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Olive, Okla. It will remain there through Sept. 10.
Officials say a disaster recovery center in Mannford will remain open until further notice.
