New BA Fire House Dedicated

The new Broken Arrow Fire Station is north of the Creek Turnpike along 145th East Avenue, or Aspen as it is called in BA.

The Broken Arrow Fire Department opened its newest fire station with a grand opening ceremony at 10 a.m. this morning. The fire station is near the Creek Turnpike at 145th East Avenue or Aspen, as it is called in Broken Arrow.

The new station, which will replace station No. 2 at 2900 S. Elm Pl., will be the city's second-largest fire station with 18 firefighters, 1 ambulance, a fire truck and eventually a brush unit.

“We anticipated growth in the southern portions of Broken Arrow which is why we strategically placed this station near the Creek Turnpike,” said Broken Arrow Fire Chief Jeff VanDolah. “With the announcement of Warren Theatre and the Shops at Aspen Creek last month, we are even more fortunate to have this station opening in its current location.”

The $3 million, 11,848- square-foot facility was funded by a 2004 bond issue. Construction began on the facility in September 2011.
