Oklahoma City, OK – OSSAA: More study of public-private proposals
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association has sent back to committee a proposal on how non-public high schools in the state are classified for athletic competition.
The board met Tuesday to consider the proposal from a 17-person committee that examined perceived inequities between public schools and private and other non-public schools.
The board eventually voted to have the committee conduct further study on the issue.
The proposal was for magnet, American Indian and charter schools to have their average daily membership, or ADM, multiplied by 1.15 to determine classification. Most private schools would be subject to a 1.3 multiplier.
