Choctaw, OK – Small earthquake recorded in central Oklahoma

CHOCTAW, Okla. (AP) The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a small earthquake in central Oklahoma.

No injuries or damage are reported.

The 2.7 magnitude quake occurred at 8:50 p.m. Sunday and was centered between about three miles northeast of Choctaw about 16 miles east of Oklahoma City.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are general the smallest that are felt by humans.
