Mobile Homes Destoryed in Fire

By AP

Harrah, OK – Grass fire destroys 4 mobile homes in Oklahoma Co.

HARRAH, Okla. (AP) Authorities say four mobile homes have been destroyed by a grass fire near Harrah.

Oklahoma County Commissioner Brian Maughan said the Newalla Fire Department received a call about 2 p.m. Wednesday of a blaze in a wooded area in the eastern part of the county. Maughan says there have been no reports of injuries, but residents of the mobile home park were asked to leave as crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

By Wednesday night, the fire had been put out. Maughan says a dog may have been killed in the blaze, which charred several acres.

Maughan says firefighters believe the fire started in the wooded area around the mobile home park, which sits adjacent to some businesses and other residences.
