Man Charged with Being Fake Firefighter

By Associated Press

Tulsa, OK – Man wanted for impersonating firefighter

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Tulsa County authorities are looking for a man who's accused of impersonating a firefighter at the scene of a deadly crash near Sand Springs.

Joel Lack has been charged with impersonating a firefighter, interfering with an emergency medical technician and two counts of grand larceny for trying to take medical equipment and controlled drugs.

Investigators say Lack was at the scene where two bicyclists were hit and killed by a car on July 9 and said he was an off-duty Tulsa firefighter. Officials say Lack disappeared from the scene after being questioned.

Documents filed in the case say Lack is not and has never been a Tulsa firefighter.
