Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of StudioTulsa, we speak with two regional artists whose works will be on view in a new exhibit opening this evening (Friday the 2nd) at the Living Arts gallery in downtown Tulsa (located at 307 East Brady). The exhibit is called "That Was Now" --- it runs through April 22nd. Tonight's opening reception is from 5pm till 9pm. It's free to the public, and it's part of this month's Brady Street First Friday Gallery Crawl. Our two guests today are Edmond-based mixed-media artist Kolbe Roper and Fayetteville-based digital-video artist Sam King. As we learn on today's show, both Roper and King are very concerned with creating works that draw attention to the process of creation itself. (More information can be found on-line at livingarts.org.) Also on our program, commentator Barry Friedman has another strange-but-true tale to tell us about his father --- and this one involves a car crash that could have been much, much worse.
