Tulsa, OK – Repeated attempts to get some of Tulsa's homeless off the streets on a permanent basis have failed. The homeless fall into a category of the 'chronic homeless'.
A new program, "A way Home for Tulsa" focuses on those who keep winding up back on the streets. Tulsa County Social Services Director Linda Johnston says a $1.5-million federal grant is being sought.
Johnston says the program is modeled on one in Massachusetts. Johnston says that program has virtually ended chronic homelessness there.
