Jones Out at FTC

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The board of directors of Feed The Children have fired the charity's founder, Larry Jones.

In a statement released Friday, Feed The Children board members announced that Jones' termination as president was effective immediately.

Officials named Travis Arnold, executive vice president and chief operating officer, as interim president.

Jones founded the hunger relief organization in 1979, and for years was featured on television advertisements seeking donations to feed starving children around the world.

Recently, he has been at odds with the charity's executives, who were fired in December but reinstated by a judge in the spring.

Spokesman Tony Sellars declined to comment beyond the statement, citing pending litigation.

Jones couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
