Tulsa, OK –
Citing an impressive slate of accomplishments from his tenure as interim Tulsa Police Chief over the past nine months, Mayor Dewey Bartlett announced Chuck Jordan was selected for the permanent, civil service slot.

Chief Jordan was one of seven external applicants who were screened, following an internal process to certify and interview two internal candidates for the post. A panel of interviewers, including the mayor, Personnel Director Erica Felix-Warwick, Economic Development Director Mike Bunney, Tulsa Crime Commission Executive Director Carol Bush and civic leader Rev. Weldon Tisdale, made the selection and were present at the news conference.

Jordan, who has served as an "at-will" mayoral appointment since January 22, has 32 years of experience with the Tulsa Police Department and also served in the Tulsa County Sheriff's office for four years. He has two years of international law enforcement experience serving in Kosovo as well.

Bartlett said Chief Jordan has "deep and solid" relationships with the rank and file in the Tulsa police force and the Fraternal Order of Police has shown its support for his leadership.
