Ames, Iowa – Iowa State shocks No. 2 Okla. State 37-31 in 2OT

AMES, Iowa (AP) Iowa State has shocked Number 2 Oklahoma State 37-31 in double overtime.

Both teams held a moment of silence before Friday night's kickoff to honor Cowboys women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and three other people who died in Thursday afternoon's small plane crash in Arkansas.

In an emotional night for the Cowboys, OSU struggled in Ames against a Cyclones team they'd been favored to beat by several touchdowns.

ISU quarterback Jared Barnett threw three touchdowns and two picks, one of which was returned by the Cowboys 70 yards for an early touchdown.

Cyclones running back Jeff Woody clinched the upset when he rumbled into the end zone from four yards out. Hundreds of fans swarmed the field at Jack Trice Stadium after ISU clinched a bowl game appearance with the win.
