Tulsa, OK – Inhofe's spending requests top $500M
TULSA, Okla. (AP) U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe has submitted requests for more than 100 spending projects totaling more than $500 million.
The Tulsa World reported today from its Washington bureau that Inhofe has requested the projects for consideration during the upcoming congressional appropriations process.
Inhofe spokesman Jared Young cautioned local communities against false expectations, saying its likely that less than 50 percent of what was requested will be funded.
Inhofe's projects run the gamut from a $135,000 request to fund a study of the Lake Oologah watershed to one that would provide $75.6 million for jet engines for Air National Guard units in Oklahoma and Ohio.
Other requests include $53.9 million for medium tactical vehicles and trailers for the Oklahoma National Guard and $10.1 million for a project to deepen the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
