Oklahoma City, OK – HUD awards more than $770,000 to Oklahoma agencies
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary has awarded $770,246 in new grants to six homelessness programs in Oklahoma.
Secretary Shaun Donovan announced Thursday that the Continuum of Care grants are an investment in local projects that have never received HUD homeless funds in the past. Donovan says the funding will provide critically needed housing and support services to homeless individuals and families.
The state received $6 million in HUD grants in January to renew funding to 53 existing Oklahoma homeless housing and service programs.
The programs getting the new grants and their awards are: Shawnee Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency SHP, $63,932; City of Oklahoma City, $134,840; Norman Food and Shelter for Friends, $23,875; Quapaw Freedom From Addiction Through Christ, $199,646, and Tulsa Mental Health Association, $213,113.
