It’s the start of the busy holiday season, and Tulsa International gets ready for thousands of flyers going through the gates.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest for most airports, but not Tulsa International. Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving when people are returning home are the busiest days here. Some airline travelers like to get an early start on the holidays. This is Susan who was waiting for a flight at TIA. She’s headed to Houston to visit her son for the Thanksgiving holiday. She says she doesn’t really like flying at this busy time of year, but it’s a time to be with family, and most of her family doesn’t live here.

Most flights will be full this holiday so it’s recommended those flying out of Tulsa on a domestic flight arrive 90 minutes before scheduled departure, for international flights…two hours early.
