Edmond, OK – Former Gov. Brad Henry considers UCO presidency

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Former Gov. Brad Henry says he's considering applying to become president of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

UCO President Roger Webb announced last week he will retire this summer. Henry told The Oklahoman he will "seriously consider" applying for the opening and will discuss it with his wife.

Henry completed his second and final term as governor earlier this month and has been working at the Edmond law firm of Lester, Loving and Davies since leaving office. He said Webb's retirement announcement came as a surprise.

UCO is the state's third largest university with an enrollment of about 17,000. The school's president will be chosen by the board of regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma.
