Hearing Delayed

Bartlesville, OK – Hearing delayed for Okla. woman accused in death

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) A Washington County judge has scheduled a Jan. 25 preliminary hearing for a woman charged with child neglect in the death of her 10-day-old daughter.

Associate District Judge Russell Vaclaw set the date during Friday for Lyndsey Fiddler.

Prosecutors have charged Fiddler with child neglect in the Nov. 4 death of Maggie Trammel. A relative told authorities she found Maggie in a washer after hearing the machine click on. Police say Fiddler told them she had placed the baby in a bassinet and didn't know how the infant got inside the appliance.

Assistant District Attorney Will Drake says the hearing can't start without the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's report on a cause of death.

Fiddler's attorney, Mark Kane, says he's not sure an autopsy will tell officials anything about child neglect.
