Oklahoma City, OK – Audit of Okla. agency questions some expenses

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A performance audit of the Grand River Dam Authority questions some expenses and policies of the state agency that produces electricity for northeastern Oklahoma consumers.

Oklahoma Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones released the audit's findings on Thursday. It was requested by Governor Mary Fallin to determine whether actions by the GRDA governing board and management are consistent with the agency's mission and to determine if its structure is in the state's best interest.

The audit says not all of the agency's policies and procedures have been approved by its board. It also questions why relationships between GRDA officials and contractors who perform work for the agency have not been disclosed.

Chief Executive Officer Dan Sullivan says the audit indicates that the agency needs to improve its accountability.
