Grand Jury Probe

By Associated Press

Tulsa, OK – nmates quizzed in police probe

TULSA, Okla. (AP) An online report says inmates testifying before a federal grand jury investigating police corruption are being questioned about alleged missing money, nonexistent informants and corrupted search warrants.

The Tulsa World reported the development on its Web site Saturday. It said the grand jury was meeting in a secret location to investigate alleged corruption of officers assigned to the Tulsa Police Department's Special Investigations Division.

A federal agent is also believed to be a target.

U.S. Attorney Jane W. Duke of the Eastern District of Arkansas is leading the investigation. Duke and prosecutors assigned to the Tulsa federal district have declined comment.

Records indicate the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tulsa has recessed itself from at least one case involved in the investigation.
