By Rich Fisher

Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's show, we chat with Ron Spigelman, who'll be the Guest Conductor for the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra tomorrow night (Saturday the 21st), when the TSO presents its "America" concert at 7:30pm in the Tulsa PAC. Spigelman (born in Australia and an honors graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London) is the Music Director of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra in Missouri, and he also works with a few other orchestras around the country. He talks about the music on the program for tomorrow night, which includes pieces by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and Richard Rodgers (among others), and about both the current state and future prospects of classical / symphonic music in America. Also on our show today: Rich Fisher shares a few thoughts and recollections about the late Ben Henneke, president emeritus of The University of Tulsa, who passed away on November 13th --- and who did much to create this very radio station, KWGS-FM, some 62 years ago.
