Friends: Shooting suspect struggled after dad died
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Friends say a suspect in a series of shootings that left three dead in Tulsa began coming unglued after his father died two years ago.
Nineteen-year-old Jake England and 32-year-old Alvin Watts were arrested Sunday in the Easter weekend slayings.
Court records say England's father died two years ago after being shot during a struggle with a black man. All the victims of the recent shootings were black.
Alvin Watts' brother, Gene, told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/Ht68tv ) that his brother moved in with England to help him after his father's death.
Gene Watts says his brother wanted to help England with his anger, which seemed to be racially focused, and help him pay bills and get his life back together.
Another friend, Alicia Houston, says England needed therapy "from the beginning."
