Four Killed in Fire

By Associated Press

Oklahoma City, OK – 4 dead following Oklahoma City fire

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) An early morning blaze tore through a home in a middle classs southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, killing all four people inside.

Battalion Chief Brian Jackson says firefighters responded at 5:20 a.m. Monday and found the one-story brick home engulfed in flames. Jackson says firefighters managed to pull one victim from the home, but the rest "were too far gone."

All four were dead at the scene.

Deputy Chief Cecil Clay says two of the victims were adults.

Firefighters were still searching through the burned-out structure Monday morning.

Jackson says it's too early to determine where the blaze started or if the home had working smoke detectors.

The fire comes less than a week after another fire in southwest Oklahoma City that investigators say was intentionally set and killed three people. Clay says that fire was several miles away.
