Missoula, MT – New dean hired for UM Law School
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) A legal scholar and national leader in environmental and energy law, Irma Russell, has been named dean of the University of Montana School of Law.
The university says Russell is the school's first female dean.
Russell was a law professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law in Oklahoma.
She began her new UM duties July 1.
Edwin Eck, dean of the School of Law since 1995, announced last fall his intention to step down from his post at the end of the academic year and return to the law faculty.
Russell is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she earned two undergraduate degrees, a master's in English literature and a law degree.
