The Tulsa Police Union and the City of Tulsa are swapping legal papers as ongoing contract negotiations intensify. Mayor Bartlett told KWGS that he fully expects the contract talks to head to arbitration because the two side are not close to any type of agreement.
Police leaders filed a complaint accusing a city official of violating the law. The city followed with a complaint of its own against the union.
FOP President Clay Ballenger accused Tulsa City Manager Jim Twombly of failing to negotiate "in good faith" in a complaint filed with the Oklahoma Public Employees Relations Board.
Twombly says the city has filed a similar complaint with the board.
