Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Attendance at this year's Tulsa State Fair was down 8.7 percent from last year.

Expo Square President and CEO Mark Andrus estimate this year's attendance to be 835,000, down from last years estimated attendance of 915,000. It's the third straight year estimated attendance at the fair has declined.

Andrus says bad weather had a lot to do with this year's numbers.

Other major sales indicators also declined from 2008: Gate sales were down 13 percent, midway ride sales dropped 28 percent and fairground concessions were off 23 percent.

Sales for the Disney on Ice show, which is held inside the pavilion, didnt seem bothered by the weather. The show saw a 48 percent increase in the number of tickets sold over last year.
