Federal Agent On Wrong Side of the Law

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An FBI special agent has pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of public money for allegedly taking more than $43,000 in public funds.

Timothy Klotz entered the plea Friday before U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange, who ordered a pre-sentence investigation report. A formal sentencing date will be scheduled once the report is completed.

Documents filed in the case indicate Klotz took $43,190 from a Confidential Human Source (CHS) fund used by the FBI to develop information about criminal activities. He was accused of submitting 66 false CHS payment receipts on which he forged the signature of at least one of seven special agents with either the FBI or the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Klotz was suspended.

His attorney, Michael Johnson, couldn't be reached after hours for comment.
