Wagoner, OK – 6-year-old Oklahoma girl dies in ATV accident

WAGONER, Okla. (AP) A 6-year-old girl riding an all-terrain vehicle with two other children has died after the vehicle crashed into a retaining wall.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the unidentified girl from Wagoner died after the accident, which took place about 5:20 p.m. Saturday about eight miles south of Wagoner.

Troopers say an 11-year-old girl was driving the ATV on a private drive. They say the vehicle hit the wall and flipped over, ejecting the driver, the 6-year-old and another 7-year-old female passenger.

Troopers say the ATV came to rest on top of the 6-year-old girl. A witness to the accident freed the girl, who was taken to a Muskogee (muhs-KOH'-gee) hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The 11-year-old girl and the 7-year-old girl were not injured.
