EMSA Rate Hike Proposed
By KWGS News
The Tulsa Emergency Medical Services Authority, or EMSA, is asking for a rate increase from the Tulsa City Council.
The Authority went before the council seeking to increase its base transport rate from $1,100 to $1,300. It would also like to increase its mileage charge from $9 to $12. The Authority would like the increase to go into effect next month.
The proposal got a chilly reception from members of the Tulsa City Council. Councilor Skip Hill wants to see an audit of the agency before any rate increase is discussed. He told EMSA and fellow councilors that he would “prefer to push this off until the (audit) results are back.”
