Bartlesville, OK – Kansas man, 24, drowns in Oklahoma's Copan Lake

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) State police say a 24-year-old Kansas man has drowned at Copan Lake.

A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the body of Brandon E. Clopp, of Caney, Kan., was found Saturday morning in about 2 feet of water close to shore.

The report said Clopp, staying with friends at a campground, got up during the night complaining of leg pain and said he was going for a walk.

According to the report, there was evidence that Clopp had recently consumed alcohol as well as prescription medications.

Copan Lake is about 10 miles north of Bartlesville, near the Kansas state line. Caney is directly across the state line from the lake.
