Dog Attack Sends Tulsa Women to the Hospital

KWGS News File Photo

Two women are hospitalized after being attacked by a dog this morning in north Tulsa. Police say the women were severely injured.

Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley says the women were going door-to-door, in a neighborhood near Ute and North Lewis Place, as part of a church ministry. When the resident answered the front door the dog charged the women.

Officer Ashley says a workman nearby heard the screams and rushed to help. He was armed with a pistol and shot and killed the dog.

Ashley says the investigating officers say it was one of the worst dog attacks they had ever seen.
