Oklahoma City, OK – Okla.'s economic development fund earns $7.2M

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma Treasurer Ken Miller has certified $7.2 million in earnings from an investment fund designed to grow the state's technology-based economy.

The earnings on the Economic Development Generating Excellence, or EDGE, fund were certified this week by the fund's board of investors. This year's certification is $1.1 million more than last year.

Certified funds are awarded by a separate policy board to projects in a variety of industries, including agriculture, aerospace, biotechnology and energy.

The endowment was created in 2006 with a $150 million investment, and only the earnings are used to fund economic development projects.
