Deadline Extension

Broken Arrow, OK – The Broken Arrow Board of Education is seeking a new representative for Zone 1. The deadline for applying for the position has been extended to Wednesday, September 29th at 5:00 p.m. "Our schools were closed one day last week. This is not a lengthy extension of the deadline, but our goal is always to be inclusive and make sure that no technical issues impede an applicants' opportunity to participate in the process," stated Dr. Mendenhall.
Zone 1 residents interested in serving out the remainder of the term should submit a letter of interest and a resume' to Mrs. Melissa Addison, Board Clerk, in person or by email at maadisson@baschools.org. Mrs. Addison's office is located in the Education Service Center, 701 South Main in Broken Arrow. Interested applicants are welcome to contact Mrs. Addison for more information either by email or at 259-5755.
Those interested must meet the following requirements set out by state statute:
Has resided and has been registered voter in Zone 1 for the previous 6 months
Has not been convicted of or pled guilty or no contest to a felony or a misdemeanor involving embezzlement.
Must hold a high school diploma or high school equivalency
Not a current employee of Broken Arrow School District
Must not be related to the second degree by blood or marriage to a current Broken Arrow Public Schools employee or Board of Education member
The Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for Monday, October 4th at 5: 00 p.m. at Central on Main beginning for the purpose of conducting interviews with those individuals seeking the appointment.

The individual who is appointed to the Board will receive the oath of office on Oct. 4 at the regularly scheduled meeting and will begin their service that evening.
