HELENA, Okla. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of an inmate who was allegedly killed in an Oklahoma prison by another inmate.
Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says 61-year-old Timothy Dunivan was found dead Saturday morning at James Crabtree Correctional Center in Helena. Massie tells the Enid News & Eagle that investigators have identified a suspect in Dunivan's slaying, but he didn't release the suspect's name.
He says the suspect has been moved to a different facility as the investigation continues.
Massie says investigators believe a homemade knife was used in Dunivan's slaying.
Dunivan was serving three 50-year sentences after he was convicted in 2005 of sexually abusing a minor in Tulsa County. He was being housed in the medium-security portion of the prison.
