Washington, D.C. – Boren, Jones lead US House military depot caucus

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Congressmen from Oklahoma and North Carolina will be the leaders of a military depot caucus in the U.S. House.

Reps. Dan Boren, D-Okla., and Walter Jones, R-N.C., will serve as co-chairmen of the House Military Depot and Industrial Facilities Caucus. Boren says the group of House members focuses on policy issues affecting military facilities including aviation depots, shipyards, arsenals, ammunition plants and energetic material production facilities.

Boren's eastern Oklahoma district includes the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, the Department of Defense's largest conventional ammunition storage facility.

Jones represents Fleet Readiness Center East, a military depot service provider located at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station. It's the only source of repair within the continental U.S. for some jet engines and rotary wing engines.
