A Crash Test is Conducted for Officers Attending a Traffic Safety Summit in Tulsa

KWGS News

Law enforcement, lab techs, first responders, and prosecutors are attending a National Traffic Safety Summit in Tulsa. One of the exercises is a live crash test conducted on an old, unused portion of the Will Rogers Turnpike. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain George Brown says the OHP worked with the University of Tulsa to conduct the training exercise.

Setting up the scenario of a car smashing into the back of a stopped vehicle is Dr. Jeremy Daily with TU’S Mechanical Engineering Department, who says it realistically portrays what an accident scene might look like.

The test helps officers learn how to investigate crash scenes.
