Tulsa, Oklahoma – Today on StudioTulsa we're speaking with Gisele Ben-Dor, who'll be the Guest Conductor for "Poetry, Prowess, and Personal Passion," a concert that the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra is presenting tomorrow night (Saturday the 12th) at the Tulsa PAC. (Further details on this concert, including ticket information, can be found at tulsapac.com or tulsasymphony.org.) On the program will be works by Liszt (Les Preludes), Prokofiev (Piano Concerto No. 1), and Brahms (Symphony No. 3) --- and Gisele Ben-Dor, who was born in Uruguay in 1955 and immigrated to Israel in 1973, is one of the leading female conductors in the world. On today's program, she reflects on the development of her career while also sharing her vast knowledge of (and her appealing enthusiasm for) classical music of all sorts, including that of Latin America (which she herself has done much to champion over the years).
