Tulsa, Oklahoma – Just how many historic buildings are there in Tulsa today? And how many have been lost over the years? And how do we keep from losing more of them? On this edition of our show, we discuss the recently completed Intensive Level Architectural Survey of Downtown Tulsa. Our guest is Amanda DeCort, preservation planner for the City of Tulsa, who shares with us the specifics of this survey as well as its possible implications for areas and structures contained within the city's Inner Dispersal Loop. As DeCort explains, the survey identified 14 districts as potentially suitable for listing on the National Register of Historic Places --- which would result in nearly 150 buildings becoming eligible for historic rehabilitation tax credits.
