Cold Case Suspect Extradited to Oklahoma

STIGLER, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a man accused in the 25-year-old killing of a former Haskell County commissioner has been extradited to Oklahoma from Montana.

Clifford Eagle has been in jail in Billings, Mont., since April, when police say he walked into their station and confessed to the June 1987 shooting death of Leo Reasnor.

The Oklahoman reports (http://is.gd/VRo9mr ) that Eagle was brought back to Stigler on Friday and made his first court appearance Tuesday, where a judge entered a not-guilty plea to first-degree murder on his behalf.

The Oklahoman reports that Eagle sent a letter to the newspaper in June, saying his confession was coerced and that he wasn't involved in Reasnor's death. Billing police Lt. Kevin Iffland says the Eagle's confession was voluntary and videotaped.
