If you live or own property along Brady Street in Tulsa, be watching your mail box for an invitation. The Tulsa City Council will send a letter, to each property owner along the 200 Block North in Tulsa, for a special meeting dealing with the street's name.
The meeting will be August 8th. The street is named for Tulsa pioneer merchant Tate Brady. He was also a member of the Ku Klux Klan and may have played a role in the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot.
The name became into issue after a resurgence of popularity in the downtown area. The Brady Arts District recently announced it would not change its name.
