Cash for Trash, a New Program is Proposed
By KWGS News
If you don’t win at Powerball tonight, you may be able to try your luck soon on “Tulsa’s Recycle Lottery”. The Tulsa Trash Board likes the idea from Metropolitan Environmental Trust Director Michael Patton.
It would work like this:
Each service day an unannounced address is selected. If that household recycled that day, it wins. The jackpot would start at $100 and build each day there is no winner. Patton thinks it would cost about $20,000 to start and operate the program.
The city legal department is looking at state and federal regulations to see if such a proposal is even viable. It will be discussed again in January, at the next Trash Board meeting.
