Capital Project Moves Ahead

KWGS News File Photo

The Tulsa City Council moves forward a massive capital improvement project for the city of Tulsa. The proposal tops out at just under $920-million.

The proposal includes $470-million for improvements to Tulsa's street grid. The rest of the money will be used for numerous items that the council feels have been neglected. There is funding for police, fire, libraries, the zoo, the animal shelter, information technology, parks and other items.

A series of town hall meetings will begin next week to allow citizens a chance to voice opinions before the project is officially placed on the November election ballot.
