Brrrr! April Freeze Warning for Tulsa

File photo

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Subfreezing temperatures and up to 2 inches of snow are in the forecast for parts of Oklahoma early this week.

Snow began falling early Monday in northwestern Oklahoma. The National Weather Service says visibility will be reduced to less than 1 mile because of blowing snow.

A hard freeze warning is in effect Tuesday morning for the western half of the state, while a freeze warning was issued for the same period in eastern Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says western Oklahoma could see temperatures dip into the low 20s early Tuesday, while eastern Oklahoma could see temperatures as low as 28 degrees.

The cold weather comes after storms hit the state Sunday. A suspected tornado touched down in rural Stephens County, but no injuries or major damage were reported.
